Sindy Incidentally 2023
“To be creative, first one must be able to imagine…”

During our childhood, we inherently possess the capacity to perceive wonder and magic—it’s almost a natural skill.
As a young girl, engaging in doll play significantly nurtured my imagination. Icons like Sindy and Barbie not only broadened my horizons, but also allowed me to invent scenarios with my own set of guidelines.
Even now, as an adult, holding a fashion doll evokes that delightful spark of enchantment, ingenuity, and motivation. It truly brings about unadulterated joy.

In the beginning…

This sweet girl was my first Doll purchase since childhood. At that point I didn’t know that I had opened a Pandora’s box into the world of Doll collecting, and fallen down a proverbial rabbit hole that I’ve yet to emerge from.

Perhaps there’s no turning back for me, at least not in the present moment. Starting with this adorable gem, my collection of doll companions has expanded significantly, encompassing not just Sindy, but various other beloved dolls as well.

Nevertheless, I still hold a deep affection for this doll, and I wouldn't alter a thing about her. She occupies a unique corner in my heart, and if circumstances ever demanded that I part with some of my dolls, she would be one of the many that I'd reluctantly consider letting go of.

This doll marked my initial venture into re-rooting. Back then, I utilised the knot method, a choice I've come to slightly regret. Beyond the method, the re-root itself is flawed due to my inexperience and inconsistencies in the hair plug thickness. Furthermore, I introduced extra holes for additional hair, as Sindy's hair often seemed a bit sparse to me (a sentiment that still holds). Unfortunately, this well-intentioned effort resulted in my doll becoming somewhat top-heavy. I guess this is a case of "We live and learn".

Which is your heart Doll, and why?
