What big eyes you have…

Sindy IncidentallyActive, Fairytale, Sindy Dolls

I am a newbie sewing and I like to practice and develop my skill using ideas that I have for projects. The latest thing I have been working on is a ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ outfit for Sindy. Which has turned out surprisingly well.

I used the German Fairytale pattern, purchased on Etsy from DGrequiem. Please take a look at their shop as there are some really excellent patterns, all of which come with easy to follow instructions, especially for total ‘noobs’ like me. The pattern is designed for various sized Barbies, however I messaged the vendor, who was super helpful and advised me on adjusting the size to suit a Sindy.

It’s a four piece outfit comprising of a skirt, apron, bodice blouse. The cloak is a separate pattern from the same vendor. Every item shown in the pictures was constructed by my own hands, including the socks and the basket.

I used a mixture of hand sewing and machine sewing, and although it took me a while to complete (about a week), I had a lot of fun doing it.

This little lady will eventually be up for sale, even though she’s a little bit scrappy and constructed of mishmash of spare parts. Previously she’s had a face re-paint but does require a re-root, she has a few missing hair plugs.

For all her faults she is still quite an endearing doll.
